Hymn # in the hymn book always comes to mind as I stand gazing out of our upstairs window at the new day and the sun just having risen above the mountains just east of Tooele. "The day dawn is breaking, the world is awakening,
The clouds of the darkeness are fleeing away. From ocean to ocean now starts the commotion that heralds the start of a beautiful day. " Sometimes I think of other places I have been and how a certain day went at that time. One of my favorite memories is the time my dear mother and I spent in Manhattan, NewYork together. Often I think of my favorite statement made by Anne of Anne of Green Gables about each day being brand new with no mistakes in it. I look out and wonder what Dennis is doing with his little family, and what Wendy is doing as she goes on her walks. Where mom is and which one of us she might be visiting. I love to spend time while it is quiet in the house pouring over my scriptures while Humpty sleeps. I think of the opportunities that lie ahead and experiences I may have. I also think of the scripture in the Book of Mormon, Mosiah 3:19 " For natural man is an enemy to God and... will be... unless he
( she) yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit and putteth of the natural man and becometh... submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love..." Feeling the spirit helps Ms. Egg remain soft boiled longer during the day and keeps her from rolling away from her goals and getting lost somewhere in the minutiae of the day. She can be come a real scrambled egghead sometimes. Sunday's I am often too busy preparing for our block of meetings. Wednesday I have the privilege of walking the halls of the Salt Lake Temple as a temple worker. I have spent most of my time working in a very quiet area where I have felt the sweet spirit of the sisters with whom I have contact. Working there helps prepare me for the rigors of being the ward Relief Society President, especially during the times of visiting-teaching-route changes. I better close for now so when I walk around the ward handing out report slips to our district advisors I don't 'fry' yours. Ms Egg
